While I already posted this as a letter on the site itself(http://www.wonderwoman-online.com), I'm reposting it here and then will add more to it at the end.
Undoubtably you've noticed the changes that have happened on the website
over the past few weeks if you're a regular visitor to the Wonder Woman
Pages. Some of you might be annoyed by the
different ads I've been running.
I've been running this site since January of 1996. Since then a lot has happened.
Some on here may have read a previous post I had put up about the
fact I have Multiple Sclerosis and my spouse abandoned me. While
I kept the site active, I rarely was doing anything on it because
of fatigue and that I can only type for a brief period of time before
my hands go numb and seize up.
This month I had to pay for another two years of hosting. I had to
think about whether or not to keep the website active and whether
I really thought I would be able to update on a regular basis. Obviously
with newer tools that reduce my need to hand code pages as intensively,
I've been able to add over 600 new pages of HTML. There is far more
to come.
What I need from you is to start clicking on the ads. You aren't
compelled to buy anything, nor will it install spyware. If you use
the bar below to download and install Firefox, I get a kickback for
that.
Keeping this site running costs me, and living on Social Security
Disability makes the ongoing expense of hosting a serious bite in
my very fixed income. I also put up the Amazon Honor System as a way for people
to donate to the ongoing costs of the site,
I'd like your feedback on an idea. I am thinking of selling e-mail
addresses here. A few friends have suggested for $10 I should give out
a:
yourname@wonderwoman-online.com
e-mail
address. I want to know if you'd want it and your other bits of constructive
criticism about the website.
I started the blog so that it could be an enhanced version of the What's New page which people could leave their thoughts on, since no one had emailed me about the initial posting.
I really am wondering what people think of the email idea.
I do appreciate those of you who've checked out the ads to help me and the site out.
